Traintown Join the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society’s volunteer crew every Saturday and Sunday as we facilitate museum site caboose rides, maintain no. 765, and work to preserve and maintain railroad history. Volunteers are given on the job training and can attend our railroad safety and operations courses to work on and operate historic railroad equipment. Hours: 9AM-5PM every Saturday and Sunday Caboose rides Visit for self guided tours and ride our twenty minute roundtrip caboose rides at 10AM and 2PM. Hours: 10AM-4PM every Saturday Cost: Free museum admission Tickets: Caboose rides $4.00 Santa Trains Ride the rails with Santa Claus in a historic caboose warmed by a coal stove and holiday cheer! Trains depart every approximately every 15 minutes. Hours: 10AM-5PM November 29th, December 6th, December 13th Cost: $4.00 per ticket Engineer For an Hour Receive general instruction on locomotive operation, get hands on experience with the brakes and throttle, and operate former US Army diesel locomotive 1231. Participants must be 18 years or older.
