The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society expresses its sincere thanks to the thousands who rode behind Nickel Plate Road locomotive no. 765 during its first passenger excursion season in over sixteen years. Each ticket purchase, gift shop order, and donation ensures the survival of an important part of our country’s history. 
Learn how you can help the 765 return to the mainline in 2010! Operations Throughout the year, we offer numerous chances to get up close and personal with historic railroading at our facility in New Haven, Indiana. Engineer for an Hour Receive general instruction on locomotive operation, get hands on experience with the brakes and throttle, and operate former US Army diesel locomotive 1231. Participants must be 18 years or older.
